SearchCamp 2009 is definitely one of the leading conferences of search marketers in India. A 2 days event attended by around 300 professionals involved in Search Industry provides a conducive knowledge-sharing environment for everybody involved in this industry. The event was attended by Digital Agencies, Search Engines Companies including Google, Leading companies using online marketing services or having an in-house Online Marketing team, and professionals with expertise across various dimensions of online marketing including Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Per-Per-Click (PPC) advertisement, Web Analytics, Social Media channels including blogging etc. I went to this conference as a Panelist and a Speaker for couple of sessions. Why online marketing is the best fit for organizations in dealing with the current recession ?
At these times, companies are looking for promotional channels that can talk in terms of ROI. At the same time most of the CMOs are not fully aware that the online marketing provides best answer to their problem statement because of its inherent benefits include Measurability and ROI based Investment models. As search marketing professionals, if is our job to help them realize the benefits of online marketing. In case your organization is not ready to invest extensively in Search Marketing, you can propose to start small with a limited set of keywords that are directly related to Organization’s value proposition and delivering the ROI within a defined period. In the later stage, you can advice to increase the spending by incorporating various lateral and broad match themes of keywords.

[Audience] Why is it that Wikipedia is ranked higher it Google results. Is Wikipeda giving some money to Google? (Well I can understand the frustration of Search Professionals. Its difficult to look at the big picture at time)
[Adam Lasnik] People have love and hate relationship with Wikipedia. Search Professional hates Wikipedia but the end users love it. Moreover, Wikipedia is one the best-optimized site as per the search engine guidelines. (So guys if you want to know how to optimized a large dynamic website, have a look at Wikipedia)
