FEEBACK
OMCAR 2009 - The Online Marketing Summit was a grand success, with 250 + delegates, top thought leaders form the industry as speakers, sessions ranging from SEO to SMM to How businesses can leverage online marketing to achieve their marketing objectives.

The event was very informative and very well conducted. What I particularly appreciated was that the speakers were sharing data from their current businesses which made the discussion very meaningful. It has given me a good taste of what is possible in online marketing. The site clinic section was the only part which has a vast scope of improvement. It wasn’t relevant to the topic of “online” marketing and focused on the basics of marketing in a random way. While that may be a huge need for people to learn marketing, a separate workshop on that would be better. What is really needed is a tools based 2-4 hour workshop on how to actually use Google Analytics etc.
Wonderful experience…some of the stuff was pretty basic…really liked the social media part by Paritosh and also Gayatri’s thoughts on having inhouse marketing team instead of outsourcing it …Wish Vivek and Manish could have stood dere for long and share some dere successes which they relish the most……
Thanks Manish, Anuj & Nikhil for your valuable feedback. I am glad that you found OMCAR 2009 valuable.
Anuj - You are right about the SiteClinic; we felt the same way. But, we are happy about the fact that as a concept, SiteClinic was appealing to many. We’re surprised to see people staying till 7:00 PM.
Cheers,
Pradeep
Hi Pradeep,
Would like to first congratulate team@OM Careers & TIE for organizing such a profound event successfully. Online Marketing is still more a concept than a reality for most of the entrepreneurs. So OM Careers is doing a commendable job & creating an awareness.
Good Wishes & Keep up this extra ordinary movement.
Regards
Manuj
The event was great and so was the content.
However, the choice of venue, directions to the venue, conference arrangements left much to be desired. Quite frankly, the arrangement for the event was not quite commensurate with the profile of people invited. The most exhasperating part was the 1/2 a km walk to the lunch venue, there could have been better ways to handle that situation. Events like these dont happen too often and no one minds paying a little more for being looked after better….
I went into the event skeptical because I was not sure of what is possible in online marketing vis-a-vis traditional forms of marketing. I got more than I had expected. A whole new world of possibiities and opportunities opened up for me. After the event I am more sure that this is something of a boon for startup ventures in terms of the inventory and cost that is offered by this medium. I found almost all the presentations very useful. A few specific feedback are as follows:
1. Site Clinic was a great idea. However it ventured around aspects of marketing vis-s-vis analysis of the websites vis-a-vis the marketing plan leaving little room for any distnction between the two. Please continue this but with prior preparation.
2. The presentations by all the invited speakers were very informative with specific figures and numbers. I want to specially mention the presentation by Mahesh Murthy and Hitesh Oberoi. It was hearty to see a traditional brick and mortar company like GM having had gained so much success from online marketing.
Congratulations to the OMCAR team for organizing such an informative session. I feel an actual demostration of a Google analytics report and discussion on how to turn all that data into information to improve the website(maybe can be done as part of site clinic) would be a great add-on.
I look forward to attending more of these session.

Kanika Jayant
Thanks Manuj, Shalini, Pushpinder and Kanika for your kind words & valuable feedback about the even.
We now have a good understanding of what we can do in our future events to deliver even better experience.
Best wishes,
Pradeep
Thanks Pradeep/Geetika for having me there. It was a pleasure talking to the audience.
I feel online marketing is the hottest thing in Marketing Communication and needs a lot of evangelism of this kind. This event has been another step in the right direction.
The event was not only well attended; the quality of audience was very good. Some very good questions were asked and some very good thoughts were shared.
I will be happy to contribute anytime in the future as well to any such cause.
Best regards,
Nikhil
Hi,
Though I haven’t attended the conference but checked with some friends who attended and also download some presentations. It was great to get a lot of ideas. On a separate note I want to check the opportunities in this field In NCR region. Do you guys have idea what are the different big players working/recruiting in this space and what are the career prospects available in Online marketing. Majority of the big players are in southern part of India where companies like HP, GE, AOL, Dell, Franklin Templton, Deloitee, IBM, and service providers like Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Cognizant are all working in southern part. Do we have similar kind of opportunities here in North part of India. Working in a small organization i always felt the need to be part of big organization. Please share information if we have this information available.
maybe my question is a little self centric but yes of course it’ll help a hundreds of people like me which will answer the one big question of the job market!!
Thanks Ram for dropping in & sharing your feedback. I am glad that conference participants and the content placed the desired image of the conference.
Although Online Marketing as the industry is growing very fast and offers great career, it can’t be compared to IT in terms of the size. Thus, there doesn’t exist online marketing companies with over 500 professionals in India. However, many of these larger companies you’ve mentioned do have in-house Online Marketing teams if you wish to aim for them. Here is a good list of some of the large players (both the users & agencies) within this space:

Hope this helps.
